Perl programming language expert Brian Foy reported that control of the Perl.com domain was taken over by unknown cybercriminals.
“We are still trying to figure it out, and I cannot go into details. However, it looks like it was an account hack, ”Brian wrote in a post on Reddit.
Foy noted that this incident should not affect the work of perl.org, since this domain and perl.com are not related and have different owners.
