Guide to Online Fraud: Setup and Execution
This document is meant to give you a complete overview of setting up and executing online fraud—known colloquially as “carding”—with the right tools, techniques, and precautions to improve your success rates and limit risk. Please note that while some information is not completely accurate, it still remains fairly pertinent (though some things may have changed, as the original was written fairly recently).
What You Will Need
Laptop
Advice: Use a different laptop than your personal one (preferably a cheap used one; I would suggest searching eBay) for this. A starting point would be a laptop with a dual core CPU and 4GB RAM.
Storage: To keep your fraudulent activity safe, you should store this laptop somewhere where it cannot be detected (you need to be safe about your undertaking).
USB Stick
Function: From the USB stick, you're able to run your software and hope to get away with it. You can easily dispose of the stick (if you want to), which just makes it that much easier.
Advice: Choose a trusted brand, i.e., SanDisk. 16GB or 32GB is way more than you need (you can definitely get away with a 128GB stick, but that's a waste when a good 16GB or 32Gb is sufficiently cheap) the difference is about £20.
Burner Phone and SIM
Phone: You need to buy a cheap phone (i.e., a Nokia for £10 from Argos) to communicate without using your personal phone.
SIM: I prefer to purchase LycaMobile SIM cards because they normally are very easy to plop right in my phone without any activation. Make sure to purchase an unlocked phone that works with an O2 SIM, because Lycamobile work off the O2 network.
